Staffy B Homestore was born in 2010 when we swapped the world of Fashion buying and design to create one of Hertfordshire’s foremost lifestyle and interior design boutiques. Our High Street store in the rural market town of Baldock has helped homeowners realise their design dreams. The name Staffy B, is after our beloved rescue Freddie, the beautiful Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
From the beginning we were sourcing unique, authentic and quirky pieces. The Christmas windows became famous as customers eagerly awaited our latest twists on the most wonderful time of the year like the John Lewis advert! The creative flair and passion naturally evolved into developing our own lifestyle brands Staffy B and Blacknose. Forming partnerships with the best of British brands Farrow & Ball, Vanessa Arbuthnott, Ian Mankin, Weaver Green and Warwick, enables us to deliver inspirational Interior Design services that include Mood Boards, Upholstery, Curtains & Blinds and Lighting.
By far the biggest attraction at Staffy B was the shop’s mascot Freddie, our four-legged son! His fan club ranged from babies to pensioners – perhaps his range of bandanas helped make him so adorable too! Sadly, when Freddie left us for the big kennel in the sky we were heartbroken, and we had to do something in his memory. So, what do you do when someone is this UNIQUE? You create a brand and foundation using his nickname Blacknose! The logo is Freddie’s nose print!
On August 18 2018, one year after the loss of Freddie, Blacknose launched. Candles & diffusers in stunning scents based on Freddie’s favourite things – UNIQUE, BEACH and MEADOWS. We also designed and ethically-sourced Indian textiles with a cheeky Blacknose twist. And here’s the really important bit – 10 per cent of every purchase from the Blacknose Range will go in to the Blacknose Foundation to help support rehoming centres and dog charities.
Staffy B is always looking ahead and at the start of 2019 our exciting new plans took shape. Recognising the growth of our Interior Design business and the flexibility needed to be able to spend more time off-site managing projects, we handed the keys back on our high street store. We have updated our website to re-launch our online boutique showcasing our brands for customers to buy online. Our brand-new Blog will be motivating and inspiring, sharing insights, advice and expertise to create something wonderful. Our very own brands Staffy B and Blacknose will be seeking stockists, enabling the Blacknose Foundation to build on the £2,000 raised to date. Follow us on social media and you will find details of markets and pop up events, we love to see our loyal customers!
Finally, after grieving for Freddie for so long we decided to adopt and rescue again. This time our new family member Bennie is a very cheeky and energetic Staffy. Bennie’s is the new CEO of Blacknose Foundation on Instagram, follow him and you will see why he has made us smile again!
