Staffy B was born in 2010 when I swapped the world of Fashion buying and design to create one of Hertfordshire’s foremost lifestyle and interior design homestore. The High Street store in the rural market town of Baldock has helped homeowners realise their design dreams. The name Staffy B, is after my beloved rescue Freddie, the beautiful Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
From the beginning I was sourcing unique, authentic and quirky pieces. My natural creativity led the launch of the signature Home Fragrance brand Staffy B. A devine collection of scented candles & diffusers and luxury hand & body product, made in England with natural ingredients. Becoming a Farrow & Ball partner enhanced and showcased the natural journey into Interior Design.
Staffy B is always looking ahead and in June 2020 a new Interior Design Studio was opened. 12 months after leaving the High Street I wanted to reset and create something that was an inspirational space for everyone to visit. I have always been conscious about supporting local and British and coming from the Fashion industry the concept of pile it high and sell cheap has now become a global issue, so I wanted the Studio to showcase brands that delivered for the conscious consumer that covered any of the 4 key credentials – A British Brand, Made in UK, Sustainable/Organic or Artisan Maker.
The Studio offers a range of services from a single room makeover to a redesign of a house, looking at space and functionality. Bespoke made to order services include upholstery, curtains, blinds and cushions from our fabric brands of Vanessa Arbuthnott, Ian Mankin Warwick and Emma J Shipley.
A range of inspiring light fittings and lamps which reflect the latest inspirations in interior design, materials and trends can be supplied, or a bespoke unique and stylish light can be created utilising the collaboration of a local manufacturer. Luxury Organic Vinyl flooring is the very latest addition to the portfolio in partnership with Wineo. A visit to the studio is encouraged to view this amazing collection.
By far the biggest attraction at Staffy B was the shop’s mascot Freddie who was adored and loved by all. Sadly, when Freddie left for the big kennel in the sky my partner and I were heartbroken, and wanted to do something in his memory. So, what do you do when someone is this UNIQUE? You create a brand and foundation using his nickname Blacknose! The logo is Freddie’s nose print! On August 18 2018, one year after the loss of Freddie, the Brand of Kindness –Blacknose was designed and launched. Celebrating Freddie’s favourite things and character the collection blends unique scents to create candles, diffusers and soaps, all made in the England with natural ingredients. The most important thing about the Blacknose brand is 10% of each purchase made will go into the Blacknose Foundation, supporting dog charities and rehoming centres. In 2 years over £3,000 has been raised!
Finally, check out Bennie on Instagram, the new “CEO” of Blacknose Foundation! The new rescued family member is a very cheeky and energetic Staffy! Follow him and you will see why he has made us smile again! Rescue is the best breed….
