The International Interior Design Show
Decorex takes place once a yr in London, it is Europe’s leading event for Interior Design professionals. It is a great source for seeking out new emerging trends and inspiration. Some trends like fashion don’t go away but they evolve, like the Skandi Nordic look, this has been around for about 6 yrs now but has evolved from a colour palette of greys and white to now incorporating brights and adding mid century furniture and prints.
Another trend that started to emerge over the last few yrs has been Luxury Glamour, and this look is getting bigger and bigger. It started with cocktail chairs in bight colour velvets but over time the influence of the 1920’s/1930’s has seen the sassy look of the 1970’s added to it. Gold is definately the new metal for furniture and lighting, with Marble being added for a bit more glamour for use in home accessories. Velvet is still a key fabric as this just evokes luxury and comfort, the colour palette and use on furniture just gets bolder making a key statement in any house.
